Poppy’s Bale Maze:

Grab your running and jumping shoes because you’ll want to “catch some air’ when you wind your way through Poppy’s Bale Maze. We’ve used more than 400 straw bales – each weighing over 500 pounds – to create this larger-than-life maze that all ages can walk, crawl and leap their way through! (free; M-S)

Hobbit Hill:

It’s the only real hill at PaPa’s and we’ve discovered some small friends live there. You’ll be able to see their front porch, climb on their trees, cross their rope bridge and maybe even spy a hobbit or two in the area?!? (free; M-S)

Nature Trail:

This 15-minute stroll through a lovely wooded section of the Patch is the perfect way to enjoy a piece of the country. You’ll discover several varieties of trees, shrubs and grasses, as well as logs to climb over and bridges to cross. (free; M-S)

Poppy’s Barnyard:

Our neighbors up the road bring their friendliest ponies to the Patch every year so little wranglers have the opportunity to try out their “ridin’ legs.” (cost: $2 per person; weekends 12-5)

Hay Rides:

If you like crisp country air and the clip-clop of horses’ hooves, a hay ride is an excellent way to enjoy your time at PaPa’s. Climb on board for an easy-going, 20-minute trip. ($1 per person; weekends 12-5)

Mr. Antique:

No, this old tractor didn’t just up-and-die where he sits. But we couldn’t resist bringing Mr. Antique into the yard – with his steel-pan seat and three-bottom plow – he is reminiscent of years gone by. (free; M-S)

PaPa’sville:

PaPa’sville represents a child’s-size, rural North Dakota town. When complete, it will include more than a dozen wooden play structures that replicate the small town community so many of us remember as “home.” Current features include Ralph the truck; Bert the tractor, along with his hay wagon; two miniature-sized grain bins (these are made out of round straw bales); and Tracy the Train. (free; M-S)
